POLICE have closed the A377 between Queen Elizabeth Drive at Crediton and the lay-by near Dewsmoor, Barnstaple Cross due to a two-vehicle road traffic accident.

The incident happened at about 7.15pm today, Sunday, July 12.

Two cars are believed to have collided. An ambulance is in attendance.

It is understood the female occupant of one of the cars is being treated in the ambulance.

Motorists are advised to use Higher Road, Jockey Hill, Blagdon and Crediton Link Road to avoid the accident.
