A TOTAL of 72 shoe boxes have been sent by parishioners from the North Creedy West group of churches to children and adults in need.

The group responded to the Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion (FSÇI) annual Christmas shoe box appeal.

The filled boxes are destined for Southeastern Europe for children and adults in extreme poverty or in children’s homes and orphanages where this would be the only gift they will receive at Christmas.

The boxes contained many hand-knitted cardigans, jumpers and blankets as well as everyday essentials as well as sweets, socks, gloves and small gifts.
