CHERITON Fitzpaine Primary School PTA held an Easter Fair in the Parish Hall where the main attraction was a cage of six-day-old chicks, which the children were allowed to handle.
Several parents and children (together with older sisters and brothers) helped with refreshments or on the stalls, and one enterprising group ran a duck game, which proved to be very difficult!
Some stalls were commercial, and these would give a donation to the PTA.
The chicks (with a black cockerel in attendance) were under the care of Joanna Hall, India Hall, and Tanya Gilband.
India (16) is studying catering and as part of her course has to source, price and sell cakes. Her cider apple cake was extremely popular.
