A SPECIAL service was held at Crediton Methodist Church on Sunday, July 12, when Mrs Cynthia Dixon was presented with a certificate recognising her 50 years as a Methodist Local Preacher.

Cynthia was married to Rev Sid Dixon who tutored her through the six years study required to be a fully accredited Methodist Local Preacher.

Cynthia remembers that her first service was on the theme of the "Good Shepherd" and her sermon on Sunday morning was "Sir I want to see Jesus".

Cynthia was presented with her certificate by Rev David Easton, Superintendent Minister of Exeter, Coast and Country Circuit.

Some 50 members of the congregation joined Cynthia and her family for a delicious buffet lunch after the service.
