CREDITON Operatic and Dramatic Society have for half a century entertained people in the area and have achieved many impressive reviews and awards. What a wonderful show I witnessed ("50 Glorious Years", Friday, September 12) at a beautifully decorated Boniface Centre and at the same time enjoyed an excellent meal (prepared by Roger and Jean from the Triple C Cafe), in good company. Master of Ceremonies, Mike Palmer, led the audience through some of the highs and lows of the past 50 years since the concept of a Gilbert and Sullivan Group was discussed. Director of Music and Chorus Master Mike Canning with his usual enthusiasm and skill led the audience through some superb performances both by the full chorus, small groups and individuals. Younger performers named the "CODETTES" enchanted everyone with four songs. Without naming anyone in particular it is clear that the future of CODS is safe and I congratulate the members on the quality of the concert. It is really important that the inhabitants of our area continue to support the Society in their endeavours as their production costs continue to increase. Peter Brewer Westwood Road Crediton
