FOR 30 years there has been a plant sale to raise funds for Clannaborough Church, this year was the 30th year and it raised at least £1,365, with some funds still to come in.

Wilson Mitchell and family have been the main organisers of the plant sale and thank Red Ruby Beef, Cottage Gardens at Morchard Bishop, Copplestone Primary School and the helpers who spent a hectic hour serving all the customers who went along on Saturday afternoon.

Copplestone School Hall was once again filled with plants, some very unusual, others less so, plus a host of vegetable plants and a bric-a-brac stall.

There was the usual queue to get in and scramble for the best plants, buyers attending equipped with a range of boxes, bags and trolleys.

A cake stall did good trade, and there was an excellent raffle. Gardeners swopped advice and information, all in a wonderfully friendly atmosphere.
