A PLANNING application has been submitted to convert the former St Lawrence Residential Care Home at Churchill Drive, Crediton, into 22 units, comprising one, two or three-bedroomed homes, together with the installation of additional parking on the site.

The plan has been submitted to the planning authority, Mid Devon District Council by KHP (St Lawrence) Ltd, of Greenway Road, Torquay and agent Philip Bailey Architects Ltd, of the same address, and also includes external landscaping.

The owner is Devon County Council and the property is for sale with an asking price of £912,500.

A total of 35 per cent of the homes will be affordable and there will also be requirements for public open space contributions, air quality contributions and an education contribution.

The care home closed in 2015.

The planning application reference is 18/00091/MFUL.

FOOD TAKEAWAY

A planning application has been submitted for the change of use of the Crediton Wool Shop at 53 High Street, into a hot food takeaway.

The plan has been submitted by Mrs T Foster of Primrose Way, Crediton and includes conversion of the premises and a food counter and extraction flue pipe.

It says that the business would operate from 5pm to 11pm each day and would be food for consumption off the premises.

The planning application reference is 18/00337/FULL.

HERITAGE TRAIL SIGNPOSTS

Advertisement consent has been applied for, for the erection of eight non-illuminated heritage trail information panels at various locations in Crediton.

The application has been submitted by Crediton Town Team and is supported by a number of town organisations and councils.

The proposal is that the display panels will be erected at St Boniface Roman Catholic Church, East Street junction with Charlotte Street, Crediton Parish Church, Newcombes Meadow Park, Crediton Methodist Church, Town Square, Crediton Congregational Church and St Lawrence Green.

The application reference is 18/00284/ADVER.
