CREDITON and Copplestone Professional Unification of Martial Arts (PUMA) Tae Kwon Do Squad have just returned from the PUMA British Championships held in Swindon.

The squad lead by instructor Dave Powlesland, Fourth Degree Black Belt, brought back a massive 16 gold, silver and bronze medals.

The annual championships were well attended with just under 500 competitors taking part on the day.

The squad took part in traditional patterns, sparring and special techniques such as flexibility high kicking and distraction power testing with both hand and foot techniques.

Dave Powlesland said: "It was a brilliant event which was well supported."

He added: "To have such a great squad attend and do so well is testament to the hard work and dedication of all the guys and girls that train with us."

He also said a big "thank you" to the local senior grades and black belts who volunteered to assist the officials on the day and to all the families who travelled to support all the squad members on the day.

He added: "We like to think we are a dynamic, friendly group, who enjoy our training whilst helping all our members achieve their ambitions and goals."
