SANDFORD Football Club entertained Lapford in a Premier League match at the George V Playing Field on Wednesday, April 17.

Lapford, flying high near the top of the league, started slowly and Sam Reeves put the first telling shot in after two minutes, which flew over the Lapford crossbar.

After seven minutes a Dymond cross gave Chris Hawkes a chance with a header but it went wide.

Then the away side scored, 0-1.

Lapford started to use their height and speed to great affect and went 0-2 up before the break.

After half-time Sandford left full-back Alex Buckingham hit a great shot which went in under the bar, 1-2.

Then the game was marred by a tackle which broke Sandford winger Tudor Morgan Hugget’s leg.

Lapford scored again before the end.  Final score, 1-3.
